the British TV series “Black Mirror” kept coming into my mind lately, which I had watched with enthusiasm a few years ago (a very big recommendation on my part, with the exception of the last season, which I didn’t enjoy that much) and I thought “one could think we’re trapped in a similar series that deals with dystopian visions of the future” 🤔.
This year’s season ends – as befits an exciting series – with an appropriate cliffhanger. What impact will Omikron have on the human species? Will the critical infrastructure and entire systems collapse completely? Or will humanity soon bring the virus under control? What role will the Austrian crises management called “Gecko” play in this? Can the reptile actually defeat the virus? What further impact will all of this have on society? Will it be even more divided than it already is? Will civil wars break out? Or will people just fight over toilet paper again in the supermarkets and then hoard it in masses at home? In any case, we can look forward to the next season, it shouldn’t be boring 🍿.
Who would have thought that all of this, which is now part of the “new normal”, could ever be possible two years ago? Wouldn’t we have dismissed this, shaking our heads and / or laughing, as a crazy dystopian fantasy of the future 🤦♀️?
We have now actually installed an app on our mobile phone that shows us how long we can still participate in social life. If this time has expired, we will be excluded from many things, unless we take the required measures to extend it in due time. People are divided into vaccinated and unvaccinated and society is split as rarely before. If we do not have an injection administered at the intervals specified by the government and which it can change at any time, the people in Austria will receive a penalty notice in the future. Again and again we are sent into lockdown, are only allowed to leave the house for a few specific reasons and during this time we become criminals if we only meet more than one friend at the same time. 2G, 2G +, 3G – we no longer associate these terms with cell phone standards, but with certificates that we need to be able to go to the restaurant, the hairdresser, etc.
It all sounds pretty crazy and surreal, doesn’t it 🤯? Who would have thought all of this possible 2 years ago? In a very short time, however, it has become the reality of our lives.
If we are actually living in a computer simulation, a type of video game that was created by a higher race or our descendants, it seems that the players have gotten pretty bored over the years and the developers had to come up with something new and exciting to offer 🎮. If we are living in a kind of television series, the audience numbers have probably dropped down drastically due to insufficiently exciting content and the rating figures had to be pushed up again 🎬.
Then let’s look forward to the new season and let’s see what it has in store for us actors. Of course, every great series also needs a good portion of sex 😍, I ask my co-stars not to forget about that 😉.

P.S.: No, I haven’t gone crazy, I just try to laugh away this surreal-looking time we are currently living in and sometimes it feels good to just imagine all of this as a TV series in which one is an actor 😉. At least we were chosen for a pretty exciting series and don’t have to take part in a “Gilmore Girls” spin-off 😅.
The life of every individual – with or without Covid – is far too short and precious to spend years of it with fear and negativity, because we will never get this time back. We should just try to make the best of this situation and not let our own lifes be negatively impacted too much. Despite all adversities, we should try to enjoy the present as best as possible instead of struggling with it, and some humor and ease can be pretty helpful. Of course, eroticism shouldn’t be missing as well, because good sex lets you forget everything around you (that was a broad hint 😉 😘).
